I had the unique opportunity to commemorate the incredible life of Katherine Johnson by posting an article about what she meant to me in the Washington Post. I am extremely proud to wrap up Black History Month by commemorating the life of someone whose impact changed the face of STEM.
In this article I discuss what Katherine Johnson meant to me as a black woman in STEM. The representation that the women of Hidden Figures provided was long awaited by myself and so many other women like me. Because of the movie and the exquisitely authored book, I was able to learn invaluable lessons to apply to my own journey as a professional in the aerospace industry.
